Hello, my name is Joel Aranibar, and I am from Lima, Peru. I have been an activist for the rights of people living with HIV since 2023, I am the founder of the organization Apoyo Consciente, and a member of the Controlling Chemsex team since 2025.

I joined this project because I was deeply concerned about the impact that chemsex is having on so many people in our communities. Over the years, I have seen how isolation, stigma, and lack of support can push individuals into very vulnerable situations, and I strongly believe that nobody should face these challenges alone.

Being part of Controlling Chemsex is both an honour and a responsibility. It moves me to know that our work can offer real hope, real tools, and real connection to people who are struggling. I am committed to listening without judgement, supporting with compassion, and helping each person find their own path toward safety, dignity, and wellbeing. Through this process, I began the social project "Chemsex Perú" in Lima, so we can also help people in my own country,
I am excited to contribute my experience, my energy, and my heart to this team. Together, we are building a space where people can reach out, be heard, and receive the support they deserve.
