Hi, I’m Matt. I’m Australian, living in London since 2019.

I started trying to get sober in 2011 and it finally stuck in 2016 - I have now been sober from all drugs and alcohol since 2016. Throughout those years in recovery from substances I have seen so many people relapse (and worse) because their drug use had become completely entwined with sex. A big part of their addiction wasn’t being addressed in drug-and-alcohol focused recovery programs, and some people never made it back. That’s why I’m passionate about the work that Controlling Chemsex does. 

After moving to London I started working with Controlling Chemsex as an ambassador to help raise awareness for the work they do, but felt like I wanted to do more to help. Since becoming a specialist chemsex keyworker, I have so far had the privilege of working with clients from the UK, USA, Spain, Latvia, Italy, Colombia, China and the Philippines.
