Hello there! My name is Hugo, I am originally from Brazil but London is home now. I have been with Controlling Chemsex since 2023 as a Chemsex Specialist Advisor, and I feel very passionate about the work that we do.

Having noticed a spike in substance abuse and isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt compelled to support our community and help people get back to living their lives to the fullest, without the fear of being under the control of their addiction.

In a society that is so often exclusionary, shaming and increasingly isolated, I maintain that we are all worthy of being loved, of community, of experimenting and being curious, of having fun, and for that, self-awareness and self-care are paramount.

In my approach to keyworking I will always foster openness, trust, empathy, and clear communication. I am also a sex-positive person and I believe a lot can be achieved by engaging in non-judgemental, kind, safe, and honest conversations around sex and intimacy.
